Carnatique is a maison – not a company. It practices la méthode, an editorial tradition of seasonal color analysis dating to the early twentieth century. The maison's voice is institutional: the dossier issued to a client today is in conversation with dossiers issued in 1953, in 1978, in 2014. Madame C. founded the maison's contemporary practice and continues to oversee its writing.
Carnatique operates online. La méthode is a digital practice; the studio session is in development. Both forms are governed by the same principle: that color is not chosen but recognised.
